Dear Reena Devi: The best place to buy rice currently is Pakistan which you can do by proxy if you have relatives here. Reasons for buying rice is : - Rice prices are lower than last year if you factor in the massive erosion of Pak rupee against the US dollar year-to-date. Pakistan is the third largest rice exporter in the world. The moonsoon has delayed in the subcontinent by two weeks which may proportionately impact this vital crop. - Rice prices usually peak by September/October. - International demand for course rice like irri-6 is picking up.
